Ryoko Goto was born in Tokyo in 1977. She was interested in art from an early age, starting art lessons when she was only five years old. She continued her art education, mainly studying oil painting, at Musashino Art Junior College. After she finished school, she had many solo exhibitions and performed live paintings in Tokyo, which she continues today. Her favorite artists are Saburo Aso, Jackson Pollock, Isamu Noguchi, etc. She tries not to have only one theme in her paintings, because she thinks that “humans are versatile.” She prefers watercolor and mixed media watercolor over oil color, because of the feel and impression that one gets from the motifs. For her more conventional media works, she has used hemp, Japanese paper, glia, colors for Japanese traditional paintings and paper clay, etc. She has also taken part in some art competitions. Most recently, she placed 3rd among 940 applicants in the popularity vote of "GEISAI," the event sponsored by Takashi Murakami. She was also selected for the competition, "Tokyo Wonder Wall." Her works are slowly becoming recognized by others.

She painted Big work for the house of South Africa in 2010.
